After three weeks of being off of Wheat, eggs, milk, soy and nuts.. Miss Rachael is much thinner, and rather hungry. While she was not eating those things we got rather creative, but it worked and it was healthy for her. She felt fine. The only time she didn't was went we fudged at the movie theatre and she ate their popcorn. Even without the "extra" butter. The Doctor suggested we introduce things one at a time, two days apart so we have. The outcome, when wheat was introduced she got a pimple the next morning. Peanuts fine at the time, but developed sores in her mouth, soy, more sores but we have to check to see what else was in the chow mien and orange chicken she ate at Panda Express... We were up to eggs yesterday, just in time for Spencer's birthday cake! We tried cocoa crinkles one day when we added wheat, and the next day she felt emotional and moody and noticed dark circles under her eyes. None of these really explained the problem we started with.. Yesterday morning I asked Rachael to make Bruce, Spencer and her own lunch. She slapped 3 Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches together, there was some PB left on the spoon so she licked it off. The yucks began! She felt bad and tried to convince me she should stay home... I am so not up to that since Lilly had spent all last week home with me! I made her go to school and she said by French she felt better.. So after school we had a science experiment to test our Hypothesis. We opened a different brand of Peanut butter and gave her a spoonful. the insides of her mouth felt all weird, she said she felt sores starting on her tongue.. The she felt TERRIBLE for a couple of hours, she couldn't function and do her homework. So our hypothesis was that maybe it was just the one brand of Peanut butter that was the problem, but in fact it was any Peanut butter, Why the nuts didn't get an immediate reaction I don't know but Peanut butter definitely did! We haven't entered milk yet, we shall see how she does tomorrow. So thanks for your inputs, we are still trying to figure this out. Hannah the scientist at work!

So is Rachel feeling like a guinea pig or a lab rat. That is soooo Not fun. I remember when my brother was tested for food allergies and the whole family had to change eating habits. He couldn't eat milk products so he got goat's milk, no eggs, no pineapple, etc. It was not fun. Fortunately it appears that he has grown out of it.
Poor Rachel! Not fun!
ahhhhhh that's awful I hope when all is said and done she can eat something yummy, hey I was going to suggest Rice Chex, the are delicious and it doesn't have flour in it!!!
