Cora & Lillian's "Fall" party

Feeling neglected because their big sisters had a party, My 10 yr old and 8 year old planned their own party. They decided it should celebrate Fall! Cora planned the activities, with some assistance from her big sister - who plans parties really well. I tend to require they plan the activities, and schedule the games, and give me a shopping list. It works well for me :)

The first game was musical chairs, it was played numerous times till everyone won at least once I think. They kept adding chairs as friend showed up.. They invited 8 friends but only 4 came.

After musical chairs they came to the kitchen where they decorated medium sized pumpkins. Some had hats ( doo rags) some added googly eyes and some just washed the paint off two or three times and never finished - that would be my Lily.

After the pumpkins, they went outside and played tag and built sand sculptures in the sand box, then came in for a snack and after that they went on a scavenger hunt created by Rachael to find the autumn mix candies.. they had fun but now none of them want to go home. oh well!

She said she was making hers mean:

This would be mine, I had to use a watermelon from the garden, we were all out of pumpkins!

Myra made hers with a mask, then she made her own mask to pose with, very creative! Unfortunately she would not allow me to draw a gottee on her chin to match since she was planning an outting to the movies after the party. :( She was afraid it wouldn't come off... do you believe that!

Rachael decided to make this a self portrait pumpkin.. Using freshly cut grass, super glue, and some hot glue. Of course it would not be Rachael without a bow!

These were our snacks that Cora suggested. Cookies made by her older sisters - Thanks! Apples, grapes, snicker doodles, and kool-aid or water.

These are the finished pumpkin posse

Ewwh, I know it is gross but it is me concentrating on Holly's pumpkin. Holly meanwhile is sniffing paint.
